A few things going on this weekend that you savvy readers may already know about. And if you don’t well, it’s your lucky day! Basically indie rockers Hollands are coming upstate for a few gigs, as well as the dream team of Dean and Britta.

dean and britta
Let’s split this up by city!
ITHACA on FRIDAY
What: Dean and Britta and a screening of The 13 Most Beautiful…
Huh?: A screening of 13 of Andy Warhol’s silent film portraits (including Lou Reed, Nico, etc.), however, Dean and Britta will be providing a live soundtrack to this feature. Talk about stellar. They’re only doing about 9 of these shows on this tour, so it’s rare and wonderful.
Where: Cornell’s Willard Straight Theatre in Ithaca
When: Friday September 25th
Price and Tix: Check out Dan Smalls’ Site or Buy Tix Here
If this is too pricey for you, or you’re not into the whole Warhol film thing, then head on up the street to see Hollands at the Nines. They’re touring in support of their forthcoming Ep, Mothers. Go to their site immediately to check out their catchy indie-pop tunes.
hollands
What: Hollands
Where: The Nines, in Collegetown (Ithaca, NY)
When: 10 pm, doors whenever before that
Price: 5 bucks at door (what a bargain!)
We’ll be doin’ some art with the guys before the show, so check back for that in the museum!
Okay, basically the next night the two acts come together for one fucking awesome lineup, with local favs Hotel Reverie opening (remember, they opened for the Brunettes!?!). I’ll be at my grandmother’s birthday party in Michigan, trying to stay sane because I’m missing this stellar show and getting my face squeeze by people that I haven’t seen since I was 4. But hey, go for me. Please? Someone’s gotta tell me how sick it was!
ROCHESTER on SATURDAY:
What: Dean and Britta AND Hollands AND Hotel Reverie
When: Saturday September 26th
Where: the Lovin’ Cup, music starts at 8
Tickets: $15 Ticketweb.
